We have been providing diverse safety solutions for serviced residences, home dwellers and different learning environments, including day care centers, since 2005. Our aim is to produce easy-to-use safety solutions to facilitate everyday life and enable more affordable, improved care work.

We continuously test and develop our services. We utilize the most recent research data in the field and compare it with our experiences in practice.

Innovative solutions

Instead of focusing on prior practices, we design services we would like to use if we were in a similar situation. This operating method has led to five patented products and numerous recognitions in Finland and internationally.

We are particularly proud of the INNOSUOMI award we received in 2007. It confirms the significance of our work and gives us faith in the necessity of our efforts in the future. The INNOSUOMI competition awards Finnish companies producing innovations in the fields of technology and services.

Seniortek received the right to use Key-Flag symbol as a sign of Finnish work.
2016
2014

Smart Flower Stand is patented in Japan. FinPro export network activities are launched. We expand our operations to cover industrial safety and access control solutions and launch our auxiliary company name Minesec.

2013

Seniortek has supplied over 10,000 indicators and over 100 individual Smart Flower Stand products. Our services
cover over 2,000 bed places. Research with VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland continues.
2013
2012

Together with our partners, we implement a VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland study on a jointly
developed product known as TupaTurva. Seniortek obtains a TU certificate intended for contractors in the safety
industry. Our fourth office is opened in Kuopio and we conclude a partner agreement with Schneider Electric.

2011

Seniortek obtains a patent in the United States. We also apply for patents in other EU countries and Japan. Our
Finnish sales grow rapidly which allows us to hire more staff. Our operations in Sweden also expand as we
conclude a two-year framework agreement with the municipality of Borås and three surrounding municipalities.

We develop our new Smart Flower Stand innovation to support living at home. The product utilizes technology
intended for safety devices in serviced residences and it receives an INNOSUOMI distinction. A third office is
opened in Pori as operations expand.

We enhance the development of our export network with new measures.

2008

Seniortek participates in different development programs, such as Terve-SOS, Good Age, Ihmistä lähellä, Vanhustyö-päivät senior work event and ProudAge. We launch export to Sweden.

Senior Safety obtains a patent in Finland and we start proceedings for an international PCT patent. President of
Finland Tarja Halonen grants a national INNOSUOMI award to Seniortek. The theme of the year is “Innovations
and Age”.

2006

Our faith in the unique qualities of Seniortek increases and we submit a patent application for our operating model. We continue our development work and open a new office in Nokia.

Seniortek Oy is founded in Rovaniemi. In the same year, we complete our first target, which provides positive user experiences during two years of testing.

2001

Brothers and long-term safety industry workers Sami and Pasi Nurmela detect deficiencies in traditional safety
technologies. They start developing a business idea based on hearing the wishes and needs of product users.
